WORKING WEEKENDS

alright...i have no problems working on weekend as i was doing so from the very early stages of my career...even if no one forced me to, i'm always at the office even on Fridays and Saturdays anyway. and when i entered service i also been forced to work on weekends. big deal..even as a "legal officer" it's my duty to hear remand on weekends when the scheduled. i never even complained when all i wanted to do was lie in bed and sleep for a while more

the last weekend we, as in all the east coast officers were to work on weekends when we were forced to go to this workshop...although held in a resort in Terengganu, theres nothing peaceful or relaxing about the workshop. we were kept on our toe and running with schedule from morning to night...and back...i felt sorry for those who bring any family member as they had no time to spend with them. as i was one of them who brought my husband along, i felt slightly guilty for abandoning him all the time.

although at last we do have half a day at the end to spend in Kuala Terengganu before heading back home. my, what a tiring weekend. the resort really is quite cumbersome for we had to travel by buggy to and fro. although the service leaves a lot to be desired and at one point one of my friends calls for the manager for the staff's lack of manners. the room keys are always faulty, which i came across on 2 occasions. once happened to my friends where they were stuck outside the room for nearly 30mins before any assistance arrived. when the staff arrived, she was acting rather rudely as if they had greatly bothered her..and once happened to my big big big boss..a VIP...this happened in this supposedly 5star resort where the lowest room rate was rm1000...is that any way to treat guests? although we paid a fraction lower than average rate, we still are paying guests...and even lower rate was more expensive than average hotels.

all in all my visit to Kuala Terengganu isn't all wasted for i had the time to go visit Batu Burok, the famous beach, which at that time was very windy to the point of misting, discover one seafood/steamboat/Thai food restaurant (which it's tomyam is subject to my husband's raving) and i did make time to go to Pasar Besar Payang at the heart of Kuala Terengganu to bring back something home. i did get myself some batik shirts and caftan for my mom and mother-in-law. also a batik shirt for my dad-in-law. so, all in all, i did have time to jalan-jalan, although i could gladly sleep for a week after such weekend, but in which i couldn't do because our travelling day were not allowed because our big big boss is due to visit any of our offices straight after the weekend...GREAT!
